Onley Make Believe - Onley Make Believe Re-Launches New Website; Shopping Online Becomes Simplified and More Stylish

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.-(June 15, 2003)-Gerard Onley, designer for and proprietor of Onley Make Believe Decorative Pillows and Home Accents (OMB), today announced a new and improved look to the Company's website (www.onleymakebelieve.com), which is destined to make shopping online for designer home accessories a simplified and more stylish experience.

Today's announcement marks yet another milestone for Onley Make Believe, which has operated for the past 7 years as a small at-home business with product information and customer orders delivered via a mail-order catalog. The new website features: five themed galleries; new products; easy-to-understand presentation; faster navigation and loading; printable online brochure and order form; improved graphics; and UPS Shipping and Tracking. The new website, which coincides with an expansion of the product line to over 100 selections, will be a valuable and easily accessible resource for customers and interior design professionals.

The website showcases an ever-growing collection of custom pillows, placemats, and table runners. According to Gerard Onley, "Our designs aren't for everyone - and luckily for you, they're not!" He continued, "Why should every environment look the same, mirror the same style, mimic the same theme? I strongly believe that there is a lack of original home furnishings available to the public, simply because everyone is copying everyone else. Everywhere I look, I can easily tell where someone has purchased their products from, simply because everyone has the same pre-packaged look in their home. The consumer isn't being provided with enough options when it comes to 'unique' home accessories. The designs OMB offers will allow customers to purchase and customize their look to suit their own individual taste and style."

With over 20,000-plus visitors to date within a year, OMB has proven that there is a market for customers looking to "go that extra mile" when it comes to finding products which offer a distinct originality. While it's easy to find pillows, placemats, and table runners at large department stores and with many clothing designers embarking on the home furnishings market, OMB is one of the few to truly offer "a designer's touch" for the home when it comes to soft accessories.

The Designs

Visitors to the site will discover a completely new shopping experience, and a full list of OMB products and design specifications. The 5-themed galleries feature detailed pop-up windows of each design, allowing customers to view the excellent workmanship and detail of each product. The galleries featured are Basic, Asian, Geometric, Deco, and Novelty, and indicate the influence of each of the pillow styles to be found within. New products include such pillow designs as: Triangle, Sphere, Entrance and Architecture, just to name a few. Many of these designs are also available as placemats or table runners.

OMB has chosen to showcase each design reflecting its signature handcraftsmanship and originality, offering a refreshing addition to the Market of home furnishings. OMB continues to offer the look of simplicity and elegance found in previous designs and maintains the belief that "high-end home furnishings should consist of unique details and not just the use of expensive fabrics."

OMB has a standard design specification for fabrics, and offers all designs in either "blue collar" fabric (i.e. Cotton Duck) or 100% Linen. A select number of styles feature silk and cotton embroidery threads, silk ribbon, and raffia, elevating the pillow to what has often been described as "a work of art in the home furnishings market." In addition to the standard made-to-order fabrics featured, OMB is also capable of reproducing any design in a fabric and/or color scheme provided by the customer. On the website, the entire collection is shown in its signature colors Black and Cream and is priced from $95 for the basic pillow measuring 20"x20" to $255 for a beaded pillow. Placemats are available in small, medium and large and are priced from $12 ea. to $24 ea, also available are table runners, which are priced from $225 to $375. Prices may vary for design work submitted by the client.

The Designer

Gerard Onley, designer for and proprietor of Onley Make Believe, brings a refreshing look and feel to residential and office interior design. His design work for the Bay Area Designer Showcase "The Buck Estate Revisited", in 1996, was the inspiration behind the Onley Make Believe product line for home furnishings. With a degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design, Onley has worked with a number of Bay Area designers and retailers. His designs have also been featured numerous Bay Area publications including Gentry Magazine; California Home and Design Magazine; The San Francisco Chronicle Home Section; and the San Francisco Examiner Sunday Magazine.
